Amy received her undergraduate degree with distinction from Iowa State University, where she was a recipient of the Legacy of Heroines scholarship. After graduating from Iowa State, Amy worked with children in foster care. Amy received her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While attending the University of Florida, Amy received a certificate for her pro bono work in the Family Law Pro Se Division of the Eighth Judicial Circuit.
After law school, Amy worked at one of the largest law firms in the nation representing leading companies in complex litigation matters. Amy is now applying her skills to help individuals in complex family law matters, including cases involving military divorce, relocation, child custody and time-sharing, child support, and alimony. Amy believes in listening and understanding each client's needs, setting goals, developing a plan for achieving those goals, and working hard to execute the plan. Amy takes pride in helping clients understand how cases progress through the system and keeping them up-to-date on all developments.
Amy also has a strong interest in taking advantage of the available means of alternative dispute resolution, including family law mediation. Amy recently completed an intensive mediation training program offered by the University of South Florida Conflict Resolution Collaborative. She is training to be a Florida Supreme Court Certified family law mediator.
Amy is actively involved in Tampa's legal community. She is a member of the Family Law Inn of Court and the Family Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association. Additionally, she is serving on the board of the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers.
